U.S.-Based Pro-Palestine Groups Rally Behind Venezuela Amid Escalating Tensions
According to the communist news site Workers World, nearly 100 protests occurred across the United States in late November, with many activists explicitly connecting Venezuela to Palestinians.
As tensions between the United States and Venezuela reach new heights in late 2025, U.S.-based pro-Palestine organizations are increasingly vocal in their support for the government of communist dictator Nicolás Maduro, intensifying a long-standing ideological alliance that dates back to the Hugo Chávez era.
Prominent groups including CODEPINK, the U.S. Palestinian Community Network, and The People’s Forum have launched coordinated campaigns explicitly linking the Palestinian cause with opposition to U.S. policy toward Caracas. The renewed activism comes as the Trump administration has designated Venezuela’s “Cartel de los Soles” as a terrorist organization, deployed military assets to the Caribbean, and threatened Venezuelan airspace closure.
Pro-Palestine Groups Siding with Maduro Government
On November 29, coinciding with the “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People,” CODEPINK, which is under congressional investigation for alleged links to the Chinese Communist Party, condemned President Trump’s actions against Venezuela as “dangerous” and “escalatory.”

The New York-based People’s Forum — also allegedly linked to the CCP — declared that it “recognized the connection between struggles against U.S. war and intervention around the world” and “reaffirmed the commitment to demand an end to U.S. funded genocide and war everywhere.” For its part, the Palestine News Network conducted a small poll on X showing 77% of respondents supporting Venezuela over the United States.
The U.S. Palestinian Community Network is promoting a December 2 virtual teach-in on “U.S. imperialism and international solidarity,” signaling that this campaign will continue.
The solidarity extends beyond social media statements. According to the communist news site Workers World, nearly 100 protests occurred across the United States in late November, with many activists explicitly connecting Venezuela to Palestinians. Organizations have organized teach-ins, rallies, and educational events framing both causes through an anti-imperialist lens.
Critics note the contradiction of progressive organizations championing a government whose practices — including suppression of dissent, press censorship, and arbitrary detention — directly contradict core social justice values.
Venezuela’s Humanitarian Crisis Overlooked
Venezuela’s humanitarian catastrophe receives scant attention from these solidarity groups. According to the UN migration agency, approximately 7.9 million Venezuelans have fled since Maduro consolidated power, making it one of the world’s largest displacement crises. Watchdog reports and the U.S. State Department have documented widespread arbitrary detentions, torture, and extrajudicial killings under Maduro’s rule.

Venezuela’s July 2024 presidential election, which Maduro claims to have won, has been widely condemned as fraudulent by international observers. The Organization of American States characterized recognizing the results as “validating electoral fraud,” while a UN committee ordered Venezuelan authorities to preserve vote tallies amid an investigation into electoral manipulation. According to The Guardian, the election has been described as “the largest electoral fraud in Latin America’s history.”

I wonder how many of them have read the Koran.
Do they know that it mandates the existence of the State of Israel?
