The Maoist Millionaires Undermining American Democracy
Visegrad24's Alexander Shaw Exposes Neville Roy Singham and Jodie Evans’ Foreign Influence Network Destabilizing the West
In a recent exposé, Visegrad24's Alexander Shaw delves into the intricate web woven by Neville Roy Singham, a multimillionaire tech entrepreneur, and his wife, Jodie Evans, the co-founder of the radical left-wing protest movement Code Pink. Together, they are alleged to be orchestrating one of the most effective foreign psychological operations in history, aiming to destabilize Western societies by promoting Communist and anti-American narratives. Let’s break down Visegrad’s main findings:
The Unlikely Power Couple
Neville Roy Singham, born in 1954, is an American businessman and social activist. He founded ThoughtWorks, an IT consulting company, which he sold in 2017 for $785 million. Despite his capitalist success, Singham is a staunch supporter of Maoist ideologies. His wife, Jodie Evans, co-founded the protest movement Code Pink and has a long history in left-wing activism. Their union in 2017 marked the beginning of a concerted effort to channel substantial resources into promoting narratives aligned with adversaries of the West, according to Visegrad24.
A Network of Influence
Post-2017, Singham began funneling his fortune through a complex network of shell companies, non-profit organizations, and media outlets. These entities, often sharing addresses and personnel, are alleged to disseminate propaganda that mirrors Chinese government talking points. For instance, The People's Forum, a foundation patronized by Singham, has been instrumental in organizing radical anti-Israel rallies across Western nations. Additionally, operatives linked to Singham have reportedly embedded themselves within academic institutions like Columbia University, aiming to influence discourse from within.
CODEPINK: A Front for Authoritarian Regimes
CODEPINK has come under increasing scrutiny for its deep entanglements with authoritarian regimes and extremist groups. The organization has actively aligned itself with China, Iran, and Hamas, often parroting state propaganda while ignoring human rights abuses committed by these regimes. Under Singham’s influence, CODEPINK has shifted its stance on China, now defending Beijing’s internment of Uyghurs and dismissing reports of forced labor camps in Xinjiang as Western misinformation. The group has also organized trips to China, praising its development while ignoring its surveillance state and repression of dissidents.
Beyond China, CODEPINK has also forged disturbing alliances with Iran and Hamas. In 2014, co-founder Medea Benjamin attended Iran’s New Horizon Conference, a gathering infamous for anti-Semitic rhetoric, Holocaust denial, and conspiracy theories. This conference was later sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department for its links to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Quds Force (IRGC-QF), which conducts covert operations and terrorist activities worldwide.
In 2009, CODEPINK organized a delegation to Gaza, where members met with Hamas leadership and were warmly welcomed by Ahmed Bahar, a senior Hamas politburo member. Rather than acknowledging Hamas’s role in violence and repression, CODEPINK portrayed Israel as the sole aggressor. The organization’s selective outrage, particularly its silence on Russian war crimes in Ukraine, China’s oppression of Uyghurs, and Iran’s brutal crackdowns on protesters, exposes its ideological bias—one that prioritizes undermining Western democracies over genuine human rights advocacy.
The People’s Forum: A Hub for Extremism
The People’s Forum, another key organization linked to Singham, has direct ties to designated terrorist organizations. On July 28, 2024, The People's Forum hosted a remote class featuring Wisam Rafeedie, an activist with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP)—a group designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the U.S. State Department.
The course, titled “Why Palestine Will Win,” was part of a six-week summer school designed for revolutionary organizing. The class description praised Palestinian militant efforts and framed U.S. and Israeli policies as colonial oppression. The Detroit People’s Conference for Palestine, another event co-organized by The People’s Forum, also featured PFLP-affiliated speakers.
On October 8, 2023, just one day after Hamas’ deadly terrorist attacks on Israel, The People’s Forum and the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) held a rally in Times Square where swastikas were displayed, and attendees shouted “F–k the Jews.”
Manolo De Los Santos, founder of The People’s Forum, has been widely denounced for his antisemitic rhetoric. In January 2024, he openly stated:
“When we finally deal that final blow to destroy Israel, when the state of Israel is finally destroyed and erased from history, that will be the single most important blow we can give to destroying capitalism and imperialism in our lifetime.”
De Los Santos was arrested in May 2024 at an anti-Israel encampment at Manhattan’s Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).
Messaging by The People’s Forum directly led to the occupation of Hamilton Hall at Columbia University on April 30, 2024. The group actively encouraged rioters to recreate the violent protests of ‘the summer of 2020’, referring to the Black Lives Matter riots that caused billions in damages across U.S. cities.
Political and Academic Infiltration
The couple's activities have not gone unnoticed. In August 2023, The New York Times reported that Singham works closely with the Chinese government and state media, donating to various groups and news organizations that spread pro-Chinese government messages. In response, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio has called for an investigation into this network, highlighting concerns over the infiltration of the American education system and potential violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).
Global Ramifications
The influence of Singham and Evans extends beyond the United States. Investigations have been launched in countries like India, where media outlets allegedly received funds to promote pro-Chinese narratives. In South Africa, publications discreetly funded by Singham have been accused of aligning their content with Chinese and Russian interests. These activities underscore a coordinated effort to reshape global perceptions in favor of authoritarian regimes, using the facade of grassroots activism.
The organization is co-hosting an event with Palestine Youth Movement New York on November 22nd at The People’s Forum in New York City, titled “Honor the Martyrs of Gaza.” The event description frames Israel’s military actions as a “US-Israeli genocide on Gaza” and seeks to raise funds for the Middle East Children’s Alliance. This event underscores Code Pink’s alignment with militant anti-Western movements and its role in amplifying anti-Israel activism.
The revelations surrounding Neville Roy Singham and Jodie Evans highlight the vulnerabilities of open societies to sophisticated influence operations. By leveraging wealth, ideological commitment, and a vast network of organizations, this duo exemplifies how foreign entities can subtly yet effectively undermine Western institutions and values from within.
