Pro-Terror Groups Hail Suspected Shooter in Attack That Left Two Israeli Embassy Staffers Dead
The suspect, Elias Rodriguez, is accused of fatally shooting two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington DC. Extremist groups have since praised the attack and called for more violence.
On May 22, 2025, the U.S. Department of Justice charged Elias Rodriguez, who is affiliated with the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), of killing two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington DC the night before. The attack has sparked shock and condemnation, but also alarming support from a range of extremist groups.
These organizations have openly praised Rodriguez’s actions, glorifying the violence and calling for further attacks, framing the shooting as an act of “resistance” on behalf of Palestinians. This wave of approval reveals a disturbing trend of radical groups using violent acts to advance their agendas and deepen anti-Israel and anti-American sentiments.
Unity of Fields: Promoting Violence with a Digital Zine
The group Unity of Fields created a digital zine resharing Rodriguez’s manifesto, titled “escalate for Gaza, bring the war home,” which prominently features an AK-47 graphic. Unity of Fields has repeatedly praised the attack, describing it as “an act of solidarity and love for the Palestinian people.”
They went as far as calling the killings “the rightful execution of two nazi pigs” and lauding “the resistance that Elias will inspire.” Additionally, Unity of Fields produced stickers glorifying Rodriguez, including one labeled “courage is contagious, for Gaza from Elias.” They urged their followers to distribute these widely, further encouraging others to carry out similar acts of violence.

Samidoun and Affiliates Justify the Attack
Charlotte Kates, a leader of Samidoun—a U.S.-designated terrorist organization—defended the shooting by characterizing Israeli embassies as places where genocide is marketed and arms deals are made. Masar Badil, a Samidoun-affiliated group, blamed Israel itself for provoking the attack, calling it “a natural consequence of the Zionist entity’s crimes in the Gaza Strip.”
Other Groups Appear to Endorse Violence
Dylan Saba, a staff attorney at the U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit Palestine Legal, seemingly justified the shooting by labeling it an “occupational hazard.” Meanwhile, Bronx Anti-War hailed Rodriguez’s actions as “the highest expression of anti-Zionism” and declared, “We need more Elias Rodriguez in this world.”

Calls for Violence Fuel Risk of Further Terrorism
This dangerous rhetoric risks sparking more violence and terrorism within the U.S., as radical factions use the shooting to rally support for aggression against Israel and its allies.
Such calls for violence warrant thorough investigations by law enforcement, including scrutiny for possible violations of anti-terrorism laws, highlighting the urgent need to strengthen counter-terrorism efforts to stop future attacks.
Rodriguez is a product of his family upbringing, his friends what he sees on the media the constant
propaganda, and mostly the University of Illinois where the constant drumming of Jew hatred is constantly drummed into students. Canary Mission lists U of I as a hotbed of antisemitism. His father a veteran of the Iraqi war, appeared on the media and made no effort to rebuke what his son did.
