New Canadian Group Supporting Palestinian Journalists Also Endorses Terrorists
A new Canadian org has launched, claiming to support Palestinian journalists; however, they have expressed support for Hamas terrorists posing as journalists and have publicly associated with Samidoun
On June 25, 2025, the Canadian Journalists for Justice in Palestine (CJJP) launched in Vancouver and Toronto, presenting itself as a collective advocating for Palestinian journalists and media workers. The group, which claims to represent a coalition of journalists, includes members who have expressed support for terrorists, including Hamas terrorists who posed as Al-Jazeera journalists. Some members of the coalition have previously worked with major outlets such as BBC, Toronto Star, and Frontline PBS. One of the directors of Samidoun, a U.S. and Canadian-designated terror organization, was also pictured attending one of their events.

Key Members and Their Backgrounds
Samira Mohyeddin, a former CBC Radio host and current independent journalist, is among the founding members. Mohyeddin's social media posts have included a response to a Wall Street Journal article quoting former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who stated, "We make the headlines only with blood." Sinwar’s comment emphasized Hamas's strategy of using civilian deaths to provoke international criticism of Israel. Mohyeddin appeared to endorse this approach, tweeting, “Seems Sinwar understands newsrooms better than most. 'If it bleeds, it leads.'"

In a 2024 report by the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism on antisemitism in Canada, Mohyeddin was referenced for promoting anti-Zionist and antisemitic content on her platforms. The report highlighted her amplification of false claims, including allegations that Israel was committing genocide. For instance, she posted on Instagram, claiming, "Israel is in the final phase of its plan to liquidate the entirety of Northern Gaza." Mohyeddin also compared a Jewish podcast to "Radio Rwanda," a reference to the infamous radio station used to incite violence during the Rwandan genocide of 1994.

Mohyeddin also participated in a protest at the University of Toronto, where she was seen alongside several masked protesters, one of whom wore a headband with the logo of the Canadian-designated terrorist group, the PFLP. According to a reporter on scene, Mohyeddin appeared to be coordinating the protest.

Support from Samidoun and Endorsement of Terror-Linked Journalists
At the Vancouver launch event, Dave Diewert, director of Samidoun, a front group for the PFLP, was present. Samidoun previously hosted an infamous demonstration in Vancouver, where participants chanted, "Death to Canada, death to the United States, and death to Israel," and burned the Canadian flag.

At the Toronto launch event for the group, members spoke in front of posters commemorating Ismail Al-Ghoul and Hosham Shabat. Shabat was revealed by the IDF as a sniper operative in an anti-tank company in the Beit Hanoun battalion of Hamas, while Al-Ghoul was identified as a Hamas Military Wing operative and Nukhba terrorist who participated in the October 7th Massacre. Mohyeddin also personally read out a statement written by Shabat at the event.

Seeing Through the Hidden Agenda
Although this organization claims to advocate for Palestinian journalists who are allegedly being targeted by Israel, it is worth noting that in past conflicts, some individuals in Gaza identified as journalists have been found to have links to activities beyond traditional journalism. The group's support for journalists with ties to Hamas terror operatives, along with its associations with individuals like Dave Diewert, the director of a designated terror group, brings the true nature of its mission into question.
It's well organized and the leaders just keep developing more groups to create a show of numbers.
Thank you for reporting on it.
