Gaza Pharmacist Murdered Israeli Hostage by Injecting Air into Her Veins, Father Reveals
A pharmacist at Shifa Hospital killed 19-year-old Israeli hostage Noa Marciano with a lethal injection while she begged for her life. Her father received video footage of the murder on Telegram.

In his first public remarks about his daughter’s death, Avi Marciano disclosed harrowing details about how Cpl. Noa Marciano died in Hamas captivity after being abducted from the Nahal Oz military base during the October 7 attacks. The father described watching footage that clearly showed a civilian pharmacist at Gaza’s Shifa Hospital deliberately injecting air into his daughter’s veins as she lay on a hospital bed pleading for her life. The story was originally reported on by Shai Deluca.
By the end of the clip, “she was sweating and showing no signs of life,” Marciano told a small gathering, his voice breaking as he recounted the nightmare that still haunts him each morning, according to Daily Mail and The Jerusalem Post.
Video Evidence Contradicts Hamas Claims
The video sent to Marciano via Telegram directly contradicts Hamas’s initial claims that Noa died in an Israeli airstrike. While the 19-year-old soldier had sustained injuries from bombing and gunfire in the area where she was held, the IDF confirmed these wounds were not life-threatening. “A medical professional decided to murder her,” Marciano stated emphatically.
As Israeli forces advanced toward Noa’s location, her captors relocated her to Gaza City, where the murder took place inside Shifa Hospital — a facility that Israeli intelligence has documented as being used extensively by Hamas for military operations.

IDF Recovery and Forensic Analysis
The IDF recovered Noa’s body in November 2023 from a building adjacent to Shifa Hospital, one week after her death, and returned her to Israel for burial. She was laid to rest at Modi’in Military Cemetery on November 17, 2023.
Military forensic experts who examined her remains determined that her injuries were more consistent with bullet wounds rather than airstrike damage, with additional evidence suggesting she may have suffered trauma from a fall. These findings support the account shown in the video footage received by her father.
Sole Victim Among Seven Abducted Soldiers
Noa Marciano was one of seven female soldiers kidnapped from the Nahal Oz military base on October 7 and remains the only one who did not return alive. Her murder represents one of the most egregious violations of medical ethics and international humanitarian law documented during the conflict.
“Noa was my eldest daughter and there’s not a day when I don’t miss her,” Marciano said, pausing as those around him offered comfort during his emotional testimony.
Context of Hamas Captivity
The revelation about Noa’s murder adds to mounting evidence about the conditions faced by the 254 hostages taken by Hamas during the October 7 attacks. Recent reporting has exposed the extensive underground tunnel network where many captives were held in cramped, airless conditions beneath residential areas in Gaza.
The deliberate murder of an injured captive by medical personnel represents a profound betrayal of medical ethics and the fundamental principles of protecting those rendered defenseless by injury or capture.
Editors note: This article has been corrected to reflect the following: The story was originally broken on social media by Shai Deluca, who should be credited for the initial reporting. Additionally, the headline was updated to accurately reflect that Avi Marciano later clarified the perpetrator was a pharmacist, not a doctor, who committed this act at Shifa Hospital.
