Death of Boulder, Colorado Terror Victim Draws Renewed Attention to Muslim Brotherhood
After Karen Diamond’s death, prosecutors upgraded charges against Soliman to first-degree murder; reviving focus on his alleged ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and calls to designate it as a terror org

Karen Diamond, an 82-year-old woman critically injured in a firebombing attack on June 1, 2025, has died from her injuries. Diamond, a beloved member of the Boulder community, passed away on June 25, weeks after Mohamed Soliman threw Molotov cocktails into a crowd of pro-Israel demonstrators on Pearl Street Mall. Colorado prosecutors have now upgraded the charges against Soliman to include counts of first-degree murder.
This tragic development has brought renewed attention to Soliman’s alleged ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, which is thought to have helped encourage the attack, as well as recent calls by several congressmen to designate it as a terrorist organization.
Mohamed Soliman & the Muslim Brotherhood
According to Lt. Col. (res.) David Siman-Tov, Senior Researcher at Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), Soliman appears to follow propaganda pages aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) on both Facebook and X. His video manifesto, recorded prior to his attack on pro-Israel demonstrators on June 1, 2025, originated on a Telegram channel called @TofanOmah, which translates as “The Flood of the Nation,” referencing Hamas’ “Al-Aqsa Flood” name for the October 7 massacre.
Colorado Attacker's Manifesto Shared on Extremist Telegram Channel
The channel, which has been active since February 17, 2025, has over 30,000 subscribers, began by sharing material of Abdullah Yusuf Azzam (the MB-raised mentor of Osama bin-Laden), as well as antisemitic depictions. Overall, the language of @TofanOmah posts are reminiscent of radical MB affiliates.

After Soliman’s attack, the channel posted a picture of Soliman and Capital Jewish Museum terrorist Elias Rodriguez behind former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
The channel also offers to help those who wish to conduct other terror attacks, urging them to reach out to user @Go_Tofan (named "Stephan Alvarez”). Additionally, the channel owners opened a “bank target channel,” where they posted a call for people to target Israeli Embassies in Ghana and Cameroon.
Role of ISNAD Palestine Media: A Muslim Brotherhood-Aligned Outlet
TofanOmah posts have been forwarded on by[ZG2] other channels, including the @IsnadPalestin (ISNAD Palestine Media) channel. ISNAD shared TofanOmah posts 6 times since May 8, 2025. Moreover, an X account called "I am ISNAD" posted TofanOmah's Telegram backups and ISNAD content, hinting at collaboration between the channels.
ISNAD Palestine Media is run by Egyptian national Ezzeldeen Devidar, a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood's General Bureau and fugitive of the Egyptian government residing in Turkey. On his personal X account, Devidar called for copycat attacks like Mohamed Soliman’s. In April 2025, ISNAD shared a fatwa issued by the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), obligating material support of jihad by all Muslims. The IUMS is affiliated with the Global Muslim Brotherhood through their shared guidance by MB spiritual leader and former IUMS chairman Yusuf al-Qaradawi.
Growing Concerns about Muslim Brotherhood Radicalization
The Boulder firebombing underscores growing concerns about the role of transnational Muslim Brotherhood-linked extremist networks in fueling domestic violence. Investigators say Soliman was not acting in isolation, but appears to have drawn inspiration from a broader online ecosystem that promotes radical ideology and glorifies acts of terrorism.
As digital platforms continue to serve as conduits for such messaging, officials and researchers warn that similar incidents may become more likely — particularly when ideological content is amplified by networks with global reach.
This is the kind of criminal for which the death penalty is appropriate. I would shed no tears if his life ended that way.
So what can actually be done to stem the tide?
