Numerous Pro-Palestine Activists Don't Actually Want Ceasefire, Social Media Analysis Reveals
Activists and groups who previously demanded a ceasefire are now rejecting Trump's deal, while simultaneously calling for Israel's elimination
A social media analysis conducted by Jewish Onliner during October 9-15 found that pro-Palestine influencers rejected Trump’s Gaza deal despite securing hostage releases and establishing a ceasefire framework. The analysis tracked 12.4k posts combining “ceasefire” with terminology referencing colonialism and calls for Israel’s destruction, generating 76.7k engagements and reaching a potential 1.3 billion users.
The analysis reveals that many of those who publicly advocated for a ceasefire are now promoting messaging that characterizes Israel’s presence in Gaza up to the agreed-upon “yellow line” — as well as Israel more broadly — as an illegitimate colonial project. This demonstrates, according to observers, that their ceasefire advocacy is motivated by broader opposition to Israeli policy rather than humanitarian objectives.
Key Influencers Push Narrative Rejecting Ceasefire Deal
Despite the breakthrough, prominent pro-Palestine influencers made posts decrying the ceasefire.
On October 9th, social media personality B.M. (@ireallyhateyou) dismissed any potential ceasefire deal, arguing that the “genocide” would continue as long as Israel exists as a “racist colonial project.”

British-Palestinian journalist Hamza Yusuf took a similar stance on October 11th, declaring that the ceasefire was insufficient and demanding “Palestine [be freed] from Israel’s colonial rule.”

Ali Abunimah, director of the anti-Israel publication Electronic Intifada, posted on X on October 10th that “A ceasefire by itself can’t end the evil of Zionism,” explicitly framing the ceasefire agreement as insufficient while characterizing Jewish self-determination as inherently evil.

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the political party to which NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani belongs, dismissed Israel’s ceasefire with Hamas and called for continued “resistance” to Israel’s alleged “apartheid and occupation” of Gaza
Several anti-Israel and BDS organizations criticized the ceasefire deal. The Bronx Anti-War Coalition declared “True peace will only be achieved when the zionist entity crumbles and ceases to exist” and expressed support for “the bravery” of the Al-Qassam Brigades and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, stating “Palestine’s liberation will be achieved through armed resistance.” American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) criticized the deal as deceptive, while Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) pledged to continue campaigning for arms embargos and divestment. Charlotte Kates, the international coordinator of the U.S.-designated terror group Samidoun, called for escalating “the struggle” and bolstering “support for the Resistance in the next stage.”
Only for the ignorant or the naive should it come as a surprise. The stated goal of Hamas (and all jihadist groups from 1948) has always openly been the destruction of Israel . They always said it loud and clear. But nobody listens, of those who heard refuse to believe it….
