How does one even begin to mourn the devastating loss of Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas?
How can an entire people even begin to fathom, to comprehend, to grapple with the evil we have just witnessed? The grotesque cruelty of the most merciless terrorists on earth parading the bodies of a mother, her child, her baby, and an elderly man—Oded Lifshitz—before throngs of people jeering and cheering over their deaths.
What do we do with this overwhelming sorrow? With this pain? With this rage?
There is no answer. These feelings are now part of us—etched forever into the collective consciousness of the Jewish people.
Today, on what feels like the 502nd day of October 7th, 2023, we finally brought Shiri, Ariel, Kfir, and Oded home.
But October 7th is still not over. It is the day that never ends.
And so, all we can do today is mourn, remember, and pray that their souls have found peace—while vowing never to forget them.
May the memories of Shiri, Ariel, Kfir, and Oded be a blessing.
